What to ask before you hire
- Which parts of this are fixed electrical installation work, and will a registered person issue a Certificate of Compliance for those? Wiring a smart switch into the wall is installation work regardless of the app on top of it.
- Does it keep working if the internet drops or the vendor shuts the service down, and can I still switch things on manually?
- Is the system tied to one brand or hub, and what does adding a device from a different brand later cost me?
- Who holds the admin account and the passwords when the job is finished — me, or you?
